“It’s been a while since I’ve sat down with Trois Noix’s Jaime Araujo,” writes Napa-based senior editor MaryAnn Worobiec, “but first, I have to check out her new winemaking home at Museion Napa, an enormous new custom crush space in the former Calistoga Mineral Water Company building on Silverado Trail, just south of Calistoga.
“According to Museion’s website, the facility is 125,000 square feet (nearly three acres!), making it one of the largest, if not the largest, sites devoted to winemaking I’ve ever been in. As we walked from one enormous room to another, it was easy to see how useful the facility is for Museion’s few dozen clients. The space was somehow both busy and quiet.
“I make a joke about how all the open space and concrete make me want to learn how to skateboard, and Jaime laughs that people already use skateboards and scooters to get around. Before long, we’re planning a roller disco party, or perhaps a roller derby league? This is the classic Araujo I’ve come to appreciate over the years: charming, funny and full of ideas.”
