Summer has officially arrived, and to help fend off the heat, this week’s Tasting Highlights is a roundup of recently reviewed California Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and more. With scores up to 92 points and priced as low as $12, there’s sure to be a wine to fit your taste and budget.
Atop the list is Quivira’s Fig Tree Sauvignon Blanc, packed with ripe peaches, mango, and marmalade flavors. This wine is from one vineyard situated at the convergence of two creeks, making it an ideal site for Sauvignon Blanc. The Musqué clone gives the wine an aromatic and exotic character. Quivira’s exuberant and mouthwatering Sonoma County bottling also makes the list. Approximately half the grapes are from the winery’s Dry Creek estate, with additional supply from other growers in the county.
Also featured are two wines from Sonoma's Marimar Estate, including the fresh and juicy Chardonnay Russian River Valley Don Miguel Vineyard Acero Unoaked 2024 and bright and generous Albariño Russian River Valley Don Miguel Vineyard 2024.
